Little M's Review - Insurgent

Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Insurgent is a follow on from Divergent and it starts only about an hour after Divergent finished (in Divergent time). This book is about a girl called Tris who had made her choice about which faction she would live in for the rest of her life. Now she has to try and get the truth from an Erudite file before it’s destroyed. Tris needs to overcome a fear of holding a gun again. Is she going to be able to do it?
This book is also about the whole of Tris’ world trying to keep the factions in place and not letting the factionless take over (I’ve actually no idea what her world is called). Not everyone wants this to be so will the factionless try to take over the faction system and create a world with no factions? One of Tris’ close friends is going to betray her.
I think I enjoyed it more than Divergent because more things happen and it has more suspense.  I enjoyed this book a lot but I think there were bits that didn’t need to be included like visiting Amity.
Tris, Tobias, Christina and Lynn are all my favourite characters.  I couldn’t decide whether I had one or not because I loved them all. They all had unique personalities like Lynn who was determined and stronger than a lot of people. Tris’ amazing mind control in simulations was incredible.  She made it look easy but it isn’t (well, I don’t think it is).
I would say this book is an action, adventure and romance story. It isn’t really a romance but there was a little bit of kissing. There is a bit of gore in it but then it’s not as bad as I thought.
In the end, it leaves you in suspense which is very exciting because I can’t wait until the next book.

  1. Great review, Little M! It was such a great book! I loved Christina and Lynn too - not many people tend to talk about the other characters, but they're awesome! Can't wait for book 3! :)

  2. great review Little M! I really enjoyed it too but I think I should have read Divergent more recently, leaving a long gap made me forget who was who at the beginning!

  3. Fab review Little M, I'm glad you enjoyed Insurgent as much as I did. Lynn and Christina are both fab characters but I think my favourites are still Tris and Four! That cliffhanger ending may just kill me though - it's going to be a long wait for the last book lol
